Flooding could isolate a number of Australian communities for weeks

Flooding could isolate a number of Australian communities for weeks

Huge downpours have caused widespread flash flooding in Queensland and NSW, cutting off roads and putting hundreds of thousands of livestock at peril.

A whopping 210mm of rain drenched Currarong, a coastal fishing and tourist village south of Wollongong, in the 24 hours to 9 this morning.

Authorities are warning of long-term isolation for residents in western NSW.
