    Jackson Browne's son has died

The 77-year-old singer has revealed Ethan Browne was "found unresponsive" at home on Tuesday (25.11.25) morning and was later pronounced dead at the age of 52, but declined to share any further details.

A post on Jackson's Facebook page confirmed: "It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away.

"We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this moment."

Ethan - whose mother, Phyllis, took her own life in March 1976 when he was just a baby - was also an actor, model and musician.

Jackson - who also has Ryan, 43, with ex-wife Lynne Sweeney - previously admitted he has a "lot of regrets" about the father he was when his children were younger.

He told AARP in 2021: "Love of our children motivates us to work hard for a future where they'll be safe and nurtured and will flourish. You know, I tried. But I think I could have done a lot better - I have lots of regrets.

"It's very difficult to divide your time between the imperatives of a creative life and the awesome responsibility of guiding and caring for the life of a child. And some of the small mistakes are the most difficult to rectify - a seemingly little mistake, but a wrong turn.

"I don't want to unpack them here, but I'll just say that my relationships with my two boys are the most important relationships I have."

The Somebody's Baby hitmaker has worked hard to be a better parent.

He said: "I've been through years of self-examination about my role as a parent, and I tend to think that the measure of your love is the degree to which you continue to try.

"You never stop being a parent."

Jackson previously spoke of his pride in Ethan.

He told Tru Rock Revival in 2022: "Ethan is a great father. He's a great son, a great man.

"I love seeing him with his kids. When I see him in his movies, modelling, with his daughter, and being such a great dad, it makes me very proud.

"It makes me feel I've done something really right in my life."
