Minnie Driver was "scared" of Harvey Weinstein during her early career

The 55-year-old actress - who previously claimed the disgraced film producer tried to fire her from Good Will Hunting because she wasn't "sexy" - is "glad" Weinstein is now in prison, where he is serving a 16-year sentence after he was found guilty of several counts of sexual assault in 2022.

Minnie also told how she was previously frightened of his "career-ending" influence.
She told The Sunday Times newspaper: "Well, am I glad there was justice? Yes. Am I glad he is in prison? Yes. It has caused men to change their behaviour around women, especially young women.
"I knew a few things, but I didn't know the full extent of it, but then I was scared of him. Scared of his power. It was career-ending stuff, 100 per cent.
"But I didn't experience it myself and if I had done I would have said something. He said he didn't think I was sexually attractive, so I avoided a lot of that stuff."
Minnie previously told how she was accused of "being difficult" in 1998 disaster movie Hard Rain, but she now believes the #MeToo movement has made it "easier" for young Hollywood actresses to speak up without fear of "recriminations".
She added: "Being accused of being difficult? All that was, it was a woman asking for parity and then having that moniker attached to her.
"It wasn't true, and it was pernicious, and it's awful that it took a movement like MeToo to draw attention to it. If you spoke up before then, you were labelled difficult. I've been speaking up all my life.
"It's easier for young women in Hollywood now as they are so much more confident. They are not frightened of recriminations."
In 2022, Driver branded Weinstein an "unutterable pig" after claiming he tried to sack her from 1997 movie Good Will Hunting.
She told The Sunday Times: "I remember feeling so devastated until I realised, 'Hold on, just consider the source for a minute.
"That is an unutterable pig - why on earth are you worried about this f*** saying that you are not sexy?'
"But there are ramifications of that: that maybe I am not going to be hired because people don’t think I have the sexual quality that is required."
