Sarah Shahi felt like she went through her split from her Sex/Life co-star Adam Demos twice

The 45-year-old actress dated her 40-year-old co-star on the erotic Netflix series - on which they portrayed couple Billie Connelly and Brad Simon, respectively - for five years after meeting on the show in 2020.

The show ended after two seasons in 2023, and the real-life couple called it quits in April 2025.

In a new cover interview, Sarah told Us Weekly: "There was an element of the relationship that people really felt belonged to them, which was very sweet and heart- warming.

"The flip to that is when things end, you feel like you're going through it twice. You're going through it emotionally on a personal level, and then you're going through it again on a much bigger level."

Sarah also opened up about her divorce from actor Steve Howey, 48, with whom she has children William, 16, and 10-year-old twins Violet and Knox, after more than decade of marriage, and how she doesn't see the end of their relationship as a "failure".

She explained: "It worked out for both parties involved. There is no failure here. I was in a relationship for 18 years and have three beautiful kids. It is by every definition a success to me and we have a beautiful relationship - Steve and I - now as coparents. It's important to show the kids, in my opinion, that when something is out of sync, you have to have the courage to let it go."
