Ne-Yo is in "one relationship with three people"

The So Sick hitmaker is dating Arielle Hill, and women known only as Cristina and Moneii, but he stressed that he doesn't view them as separate romances.

Speaking on Sherri, he said: "The main understanding is I'm not in three relationships. I'm in one relationship with three people.

"We figure out ways to make everything work."

Ne-Yo - who has Madilyn, 14, and Mason, 13, with former fiance Monyetta Shaw, Shaffer Jr., nine, Roman, six, and four-year-old Isabella with ex-wife Crystal Renay, and Braiden, four, and Brixton, two, with Sade Jenea Bagnerise - noted each of his girlfriends "gets their individual time" but "group time is just as important."

The 46-year-old singer explained his divorce from Crystal Renay prompted him to vow not to "tell another lie" to a woman again, leading to his current unconventional situation.

He said: "I'll keep this brief. So after my very public, very ugly divorce, I made the decision that I was never going to tell another lie to a woman ever again in life.

"I own the thing that I did in that marriage to mess it up. I own it completely. And I decided I didn't want to be the reason that anybody ever felt like that ever again."

Ne-Yo explained "one of the three" current girlfriends had been dating him longer than the others when he raised the idea of a polyamorous relationship.

He said: "I basically went to her and said, 'Listen, you know I rock with you. You know I love you, but I have to be honest with you. It's not just you. I would love for you to meet these other women, and if we can figure out a way to do something together, cool. If not, that's cool, too.' "

He asked all the women if they wanted to proceed together.

He added: "Everybody chose to stick around."

After the Let Me Love You singer noted he can't do "blanket stuff" such as red roses for all three of his girlfriends on Valentine's Day, host Sherri Shepherd noted it "seems like more work" to have to come up with three different personal gifts for each of his partners.

Her guest smiled: "I've never been afraid of hard work. Never ever."
