Air New Zealand's cabin crew members are facing massive cuts.

In an email sent to staff, the airline has confirmed 1460 cabin crew members face losing their jobs.

The email says the company is burning through just under 14 million dollars a month in their salaries.

The national carrier earlier this week indicated 387 pilots could lose their jobs.

Air New Zealand has already said it will need to reduce its 12,500 strong workforce by up to 30 per cent.
