Catherine, Princess of Wales' brother doesn't always listen to her parenting advice

James Middleton, 37, and his wife Alizee welcomed son Inigo into the world last October and while it has been "wonderful" seeing his eldest sister - who has Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis with husband Prince William - and their other sibling, Pippa, raise their families as "dedicated" mothers, he doesn't always take their "tips" on board

He told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "It's been wonderful, seeing them so dedicated and strong. I'm in awe of that.

"But when it's your own baby, it's a different experience.

"I've been fortunate to see how my sisters have done it and take tips along the way - some I take on board, and others I'm like, 'Hmm'."

But James is thankful that Inigo has older cousins, including sister Pippa's children - Arthur, Grace and Rose - to look out for him.

He said: "He's fortunate to have older cousins who can now pick him up and show him things and, as he rows up, they'll be able to look out for him.

"There's definitely an element of curiosity about a baby that they have."

And Inigo is fortunate enough to have inherited a whole wardrobe of clothes from his cousins, giving Catherine and Pippa a chance to reminisce on their own children's early years.

James said: "They are milestones because [my sisters] remember when their child was wearing something and how old they were - it takes them back.

"It's been a lovely thing for them."

James and his wife are keen to give Inigo a sibling, as well as add to their doggy family.

He said: "If we're fortunate enough to be able to.

"The pitter-patter of two or four feet. But who knows which will come first?"
