Helena Cribb fatally struck 65-year-old Jason Collins on a North Shore road last December, driving home from a Christmas function.
The 23-year-old - whose dad is 15-test veteran Ron Cribb - pleaded guilty to careless driving causing death in September.
In the North Shore District Court, today she's told Collins' family she was so terribly sorry.
Widow, Gemma, says Cribb had chilling disregard for her husband's life, and drove away with indifference to let him die.
