There are significant delays to bowel screening in Palmerston North

There are significant delays to bowel screening in Palmerston North

Around 852 patients are unlikely to be seen before May next year - as the regions hospital cuts back on some of its screening procedures.

Health New Zealand can't confirm whether similar moves are happening around the country.

Bowel Cancer New Zealand Medical Advisor Professor Frank Frizelle says this is very concerning.

He says, these are patients who have an increased risk of having cancer.
