The number of areas subject to heavy rain warnings is shrinking - after a wild day of weather across the upper North Island

The number of areas subject to heavy rain warnings is shrinking - after a wild day of weather across the upper North Island

Only Coromandel and Tairawhiti still have warnings - until 1am in Coromandel, and 8am for Tairawhiti.

MetService is warning rivers and streams could rise rapidly in both areas - and surface flooding, slips and difficult driving conditions are possible.

Almost 300 properties don't have power in Paeroa, with other small outages spread across the rest of the North Island.
