There's no law against charging high prices

There's no law against charging high prices

These are the words from the Chair of the Commerce Commission -- justifying a decision NOT to launch a formal market study into the cost of flying.

It comes as some regional routes within New Zealand cost more than international Pacific flights.

Dr John Small says there's nothing that would warrant a study.

He says they're not particularly happy with what they see in competition, though, and are keeping an eye on it.
