Running prodigy Sam Ruthe is crediting coach Craig Kirkwood after breaking his 15th national age group record since November

The 16-year-old's snapped his own New Zealand under-18 1500 metre mark by over a second with a time of three minutes, 39.17 seconds at the Sunset Tour meet in Los Angeles.

Ruthe says Kirkwood's helped him transition swiftly between races.
