Nicole Scherzinger has bowed out of Sunset Boulevard declaring the show has "has changed me forever"

The Pussycat Dolls star has been playing Norma Desmond in the revival of Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical Sunset Boulevard since 2003 when she debuted her performance in London's West End before the show transferred to Broadway the following year

The curtain has now come down on the musical following a successful run in New York, and the singer has admitted the role was life-changing following the final show on Sunday (20.07.25). In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Today, the sun sets on Sunset Blvd for the final time. After living and breathing Norma Desmond for the past two years, it's almost impossible to grasp that today is the last show.

"What began as a limited run, then extended, now somehow, nearly 10 months on Broadway have flown by.

"Norma's story is for anyone who's ever felt alone. Lonely. Abandoned. Outcast. For anyone who never felt like they belonged.

"For those who once loved something deeply and had it taken from them, aching to reclaim it. For the dreamers. The fighters. The believers. The warriors.

"For those unshakable in their purpose and power, doing what they love most ... Norma has changed me forever.

"Thank you, Broadway 'for the magic in the making'."

Nicole went on to thank Lloyd Webber as well as the show's director Jamie Lloyd and the rest of the cast "for everything".

She added: "Jamie, the ultimate brave pioneer, you have given us all new ways to dream. Thank you for showing me what is possible when you dare to be braver. I love you."

Nicole won the Best Actress in a Musical prize at the UK's Laurence Olivier Awards last year while the show also scooped prizes for supporting actors, Best Director for Lloyd as well as Best Lighting, Sound, Outstanding Musical Contribution and Best Musical Revival.

It was also a huge hit at the Tony Awards with Nicole winning the Best Actress in a Musical gong.

During her acceptance speech at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, she said: "Growing up, I always felt like I didn't belong, but you all have made me feel like I belong and I have come home at last.

"So if there is anyone who feels like they don't belong or your time hasn't come, don't give up. Just keep on giving and giving because the world needs your love and light more than ever. This is a testament that love always wins."
