    A man's been charged with arson - over Avondale St Mary's Church burning down in Auckland in the early hours of last Monday


    No one was injured, but the Catholic church was gutted.

    Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk says they arrested a 42-year-old man at a New Lynn property last night.

    He's appearing in the Auckland District Court today.
