Police have charged a man with murder - nearly seven years after the death of Eddie Peters

Police have charged a man with murder - nearly seven years after the death of Eddie Peters

The 45-year-old was viciously beaten and left for dead in Hawke's Bay's Flaxmere in 2018, and died in Wellington Hospital.

Detective Inspector Dave de Lange says a 29-year-old Hastings man was arrested this morning - and is due in court today.

He's also charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

De Lange says police pieced together the tragic events of that night - thanks to the assistance from the Hastings community.
