A senior first responder accused of exporting and possessing child sex abuse material is facing more charges

The man, in his 50s, appeared in the Christchurch District Court in June - after a Customs investigation in April.

He was granted interim name suppression and bail.

He initially faced five charges of knowingly exporting objectionable publications depicting child sexual exploitation - and possessing objectionable publications.

After examining devices from his home - Customs has now laid four new charges.
