45-year-old Hakyung Lee was extradited from South Korea in 2022, after the grim discovery of primary schoolers Minu and Yuna Jo.

They're believed to have been dead for more than four years at the time of the discovery.

A jury was selected at the High Court in Auckland yesterday.

Justice Geoffrey Venning told jurors they'll likely be tasked with determining if Lee was insane at the time of her children's deaths.

The trial's expected to last four weeks.
