    A man has been charged with manslaughter following the disappearance of Jason Butler, four years ago


    Butler has been missing since October 2021, despite extensive searches in and around the Omaio area in the Bay of Plenty, including along the Haparapara River and bush areas.

    A 57-year-old man has been arrested following a series of search warrants in Opotiki and Omaio today.

    He is due to appear in Whakatane District Court today where the Crown will be opposing bail.
