A superb unbeaten century from opener Amelia Kerr has guided the Wellington Blaze to a second straight win in the women's Super Smash T20 cricket competition

A superb unbeaten century from opener Amelia Kerr has guided the Wellington Blaze to a second straight win in the women's Super Smash T20 cricket competition

Kerr finished on 106 as the Blaze thrashed the visiting Auckland Hearts by 49 runs at the Basin Reserve, earning a first-ever bonus point ... after surpassing the 160-run threshold.

They made 184 for two ... in reply, the Hearts were all out for 135 with one ball remaining.

The men's fixture in Wellington may yet suffer from the rain that's hitting the region - but for now, hosts the Firebirds have made 187 for seven, batting first against the Auckland Aces.

That's set the visitors a target of 9.35 runs an over for victory.
