    A person's been arrested in the Bay of Plenty town of Katikati - after an armed police operation this afternoon forced local schools and an early childhood centre into lockdown

    A person's been arrested in the Bay of Plenty town of Katikati - after an armed police operation this afternoon forced local schools and an early childhood centre into lockdown


    In a social media post, Katikati Primary School says the lockdown is still active, but police given the okay for children to be released from classrooms.

    Katikati College has given similar messaging..

    Police say a person's in custody, and charges will follow.
