Kiwis are being urged to be extra careful with fires today, as firefighters strike again

Members of the Professional Firefighters Union will be walking off the job, for one hour - starting at noon.

Fire and Emergency will continue to answer 111 calls, but response-times will be delayed.

Union National Secretary Wattie Watson says they're striking due to poor work conditions, that aren't being addressed in bargaining talks.

She says they have issues concerning equipment, health, safety, and pay.
