    German driver Chris Mies has escaped injury after his Ford Racing Mustang struck a kangaroo at the Bathurst 12 hour race


    Mies hit the 'roo at 250 while racing at 250 kilometres an hour in relative darkness early in the race which began at 5:45am local time this morning.

    Mies was covered in blood as he exited the vehicle - which sustained extensive damage bringing an end to the entry he was sharing with Supercars driver Broc Feeney.
