The Government's thrown more than 25-million-dollars into a dairy innovation programme

The Government's thrown more than 25-million-dollars into a dairy innovation programme

Agriculture minister Damien O'Connor's launched the Resilient Dairy programme at Fieldays this morning.

The seven-year programme aims to drive improvements to the national dairy herd, and bring change to sustainable milk production.

Ministry for Primary Industries' investment programmes director Steve Penno says New Zealand needs to increase product value in a way that improves sustainability.

MPI will invest 10.3-million-dollars into the programme, alongside 11.2-million from the Livestock Improvement Corporation, and 4.2-million from DairyNZ.
