    One person has died after crashing their car on Otaika Valley Road near Whangarei


    Police were called to the crash, between Stunnell Road and Mulberry Lane, shortly after midnight.

    It's the second fatal crash in the area in 24 hours.

    A person died in a two-vehicle crash on State Highway One at Oakleigh, south of Whangarei just before six last night.
