There's been a 4.9 magnitude earthquake in the central North Island
14 December 2019
GeoNet reports the earthquake struck 40 kilometres south-east of Turangi, at 7.12pm.
It was 45 kilometres deep.
There have been around 3000 reports on the GeoNet website of the shake being felt in the central and southern North Island.
