Specialist police teams are still working to understand what led to the death of a 20-year-old Coromandel man

Specialist police teams are still working to understand what led to the death of a 20-year-old Coromandel man

Bayden Williams, from Tairua, died on Wednesday on the Kopu-Hikuai Road.

A 23-year-old appeared in the Hamilton District Court yesterday, charged with murder and was remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Daryl Smith is appealing for sightings of two vehicles in the area - a dark green 1997 Jaguar xJ6 Saloon and a silver 2003 Mazda Bounty double cab ute.

Smith says anyone who may have seen either on Wednesday between 6 and 7.30pm should call ten-five.
