    The Super Bowl will have a woman on board its officiating team for the first time


    Sarah Thomas has been appointed as down judge for the NFL's showpiece next month.

    Thomas became the competition's first fulltime female official in 2015.

    She's part of an eight-person team, led by referee Carl Cheffers who will control his second Super Bowl.
