At least forty people are dead after a series of deadly explosions in the Afghan capital Kabul

At least forty people are dead after a series of deadly explosions in the Afghan capital Kabul

Dozens more have been injured from the series of blasts at a school - with most of the casualties female students.

BBC correspondent Secunder Kermani says it seems likely the attack was by the Islamic State group.

He says the local neighbourhood predominantly consists of people from the Hazara minority community and many of them are Shia Muslims.

Kermani says the community's been repeatedly targeted by the Islamic State in recent years.
