An unlicensed driver is expected to take years to pay off reparations, after fatally striking and running over a motorcyclist, and fleeing the scene

An unlicensed driver is expected to take years to pay off reparations, after fatally striking and running over a motorcyclist, and fleeing the scene

Fatima Mohammed failed to stop, after driving over Ian Charles Johnson with both her front and rear wheels at a Hastings roundabout in June last year.

The Herald's Open Justice reports the 48-year-old has avoided jail time, but has been sentenced to community work, supervision, community detention with a curfew, and a two-year disqualification from driving.

She's been ordered to pay almost 16-thousand dollars in reparations.

However, as she's a beneficiary, she's expected to take years to pay off the full reparation amount.
