A political commentator isn't impressed with how an investigation into allegations against Te Pati Maori has been run

It's been alleged information collected at Manurewa Marae was used to help the party's election campaign -- which it denies.

Commentator Bryce Edwards says currently the investigation doesn't seem coordinated as its split between different agencies.

He says there needs to be a different approach.

Edwards says a King's Counsel, the Auditor General or the Serious Fraud Office could take the lead.
