    The new-look Ranfurly Shield will be on the line for the first time this afternoon


    Hawke's Bay's opening defence of 2024 against Heartland side King Country will showcase a THIRD version of the Log 'o Wood, re-constructed after version two was infamously broken during the Magpies' celebrations of their successful challenge against Wellington at the end of last season.

    Hawke's Bay chief executive Jay Campbell says they've had the new Shield out at the region's schools and hospitals ahead of today's match.



    Kick-off in Hastings is at 3 o'clock.
