Air New Zealand's profits have taken a dive

Air New Zealand's profits have taken a dive

    Air New Zealand
    Air New Zealand
Its annual earnings before tax are down 67-percent, while its net profit after tax is down almost 69-percent.

The result is broadly in line with forecasts.

The national carrier recorded one of its best-ever results last year, following the reopening of international borders.

But it's been facing more operational and economic headwinds, particularly in the past six months, with domestic demand drying up, and engine issues taking planes out of action.
