A man who robbed Christchurch cafe Sign of the Kiwi is revealed to have a much longer criminal past

Tony Dean Adams was part of the group that robbed the historic cafe in June 2022 - one of many offences.

Open Justice reports a Police raid at his home found weapons, drugs, drug-related items, and cash.

Adams was sentenced to four years and two months in prison, reduced from five years, for two offences in 2023 and earlier this year.

His criminal history also includes driving and dishonesty offences, and sentence and release condition breaches numbering some 84 offences.
