Synlait  Milk will retain its North Island plants - after the company decided against selling the facilities, to restore its finances

Synlait Milk will retain its North Island plants - after the company decided against selling the facilities, to restore its finances

However, the dairy processor has announced its Pokeno facility will stop processing dairy and focus on plant-based products instead.

JMI Wealth Director, Andrew Kelleher, says Synlait will meet all of its contractual obligations to the 54 North Island farms supplying the company.

He says the milk from the farms will now be collected by Open Country - but some of the suppliers have notified Synlait, saying they're going to stop supplying.
