    A Christchurch man in his 70s has appeared in court, charged with murdering a woman in her Mount Pleasant home


    A woman's body was found at a property on Mount Pleasant Road about 5pm yesterday.

    The man appeared before Judge Mark Callaghan this morning.

    He has been granted interim name suppression and remanded in custody without plea, for two and a half weeks.

    Police are establishing the movements of the victim and the accused, from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon.
