    A homicide investigation is continuing in Gisborne after a man died in hospital after being severely injured at a residential address


    Police were called after the man was taken to Gisborne Hospital by ambulance just before 4.30am yesterday.

    Initial enquiries indicate he suffered his injuries at a Tolerton Avenue property in the suburb of Elgin.

    A scene guard was put in place yesterday while a scene examination was carried out.
