Relief in the construction sector, after yesterday's cut to the Official Cash Rate

Relief in the construction sector, after yesterday's cut to the Official Cash Rate

It's been slashed to 4.25 percent - and the Reserve Bank is forecasting more cuts to come.

Consultant Mike Blackburn says it's positive news for buyers.

But he says there's already more confidence in Canterbury after cuts in recent months.

Blackburn predicts construction will significantly increase region-wide early next year.
