Police are trying to piece together the pieces of a Whangarei firearms event late last night

Police are trying to piece together the pieces of a Whangarei firearms event late last night

A vehicle was located in the suburb of Raumanga with significant damage, consistent with a firearm being discharged.

It followed earlier reports at 11.20 of gun shots and people arguing at a Hedley Place address - before two vehicles left.

Police will boost their presence in the area throughout today.
