Rob Lowe has been helping his younger brother Chad after he lost his home in the California wildfires

The 60-year-old actor has revealed his actor sibling, 57, was among those left with nothing after his entire neighbourhood in the Pacific Palisades was wiped out by the flames - so he's been doing his best to help and joked Chad has been getting plenty of "big brother hand-me-downs" just like when they were kids

Rob - who plays a fire captain in TV show '9-1-1: Lone Star' - told 'Entertainment Tonight': "My brother unfortunately ... Chad lost his home - everything in it. His entire neighborhood, gone.

"'He has three little girls. All their friends lost everything ... He got a lot of big brother hand-me-downs. He's back to being 15-years-old."

He went on to joke: "He loves to dress like a dad. I give him a lot of c***. So I took my most dad ... Hokas [shoes]."

Chad - who has appeared in '24' and 'Pretty Little Liars' - previously revealed he was safe along with his wife Kim, daughters Mabel, Fiona and Nixie and their pets but their house had been reduced to a pile of charred rubble.

In a post on Instagram, Chad shared a picture of the devastation and wrote: "This is what remains of 10 years of building our lives. Our hearts are broken, but we are comforted by all the well wishes, and offers of assistance.

"We are ok and will be ok. We have each other. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the other people who are suffering from this unimaginable disaster.

"We are incredibly grateful to all the first responders, police, and firefighters, who put their lives on the line to protect all of us. They are truly heroes.

"Home really is where the heart is. Hold those you love close. Take care of each other. This crazy thing called 'life' is so damn precious.

"Love, Chad, Kim, Mabel, Fiona and Nixie. Plus 3 cats and 2 fish."
