Chelsea Handler poked fun at the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni conflict during the Critics Choice Awards

The 49-year-old comedian and talk show host kicked off her opening monologue at the ceremony at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, by referring to the 'It Ends With Us' costars ongoing legal drama

She said: "I want to acknowledge that we've been through a lot lately, not just here in Los Angeles, but our entire country. It is important in times like these to have a distraction and that's why I want to personally extend my gratitude to Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Thank you for providing us with that distraction. I'm grateful; I think we're all grateful and I think we're good.

"I think everyone in the room, no matter who's side you're on, we can all agree to accept that there's probably not going to be a sequel. It ends with us, guys."

Chelsea also joked about Ariana Grande's relationship with her 'Wicked' co-star Ethan Slater, referring to him as a "munchkin".

She said: "We're going to spend the night celebrating all the love and success in this room. It's nice to see some of our most beloved child stars all grown up and thriving. Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande are all nominated tonight. And now, Ariana has even fallen in love with a munchkin!"

Meanwhile, 'Anora' won the big prize of Best Picture at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, while 'Emilia Pérez', 'Wicked' and 'The Substance' each took home three gongs.

'The Brutalist' star Adrien Brody picked up Best Actor; Demi Moore won Best Actress for 'The Substance', while 'Emilia Pérez' Zoe Saldaña and 'A Real Pain's Kieran Culkin, won Best Supporting Actor and Actress.
