Police are investigating two separate reports of two men threatening people with firearms in the Far North

Police are investigating two separate reports of two men threatening people with firearms in the Far North

They say they were alerted to a pair making demands towards a parked vehicle just south of Kawakawa township after 9pm.

Cordons were put up and the Armed Offenders Squad deployed, but the cordons were stood down at 1am when the offenders couldn't be found.

Police say they're also investigating reports of two men making threats towards, and assaulting, the occupant of a Kaikohe property at 11:15pm.

They don't believe the events are random.
