Black Ferns lock Maia Roos has full confidence in Blues teammate Ruahei Demant to steer the ship in this afternoon's Pacific Four opener against Australia in Newcastle

Demant has the ability to play between first five and second five, appearing in the latter position for the Blues in Super Rugby Aupiki.

Roos says the team need a reliable playmaker to lead a stacked backline.

Kickoff is at 5pm.
