Former Brisbane and Queensland State of Origin coach Kevin Walters is in line to take the Australian job

Former Brisbane and Queensland State of Origin coach Kevin Walters is in line to take the Australian job

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The appointment would mark a return after losing his Broncos gig at the end of 2024 - he previously mentored the Maroons from 2016 to 2019.

The move comes after former Kangaroos boss Mal Meninga was forced to step down upon taking the Perth Bears job last month.

The Australian Rugby League Commission has ruled out having a club coach in charge of the international side.
