Police remain positive about the search for a tramper who's missing on the South Island's West Coast

75-year-old Roy Arbon is overdue from a walk up Mount Davy to Mount Sewell.
Search teams will be on the ground in the Mount Davy area today, alongside LandSAR volunteers and helicopters.
His friend told our newsroom Arbon had gone up for a day walk but didn't return.
The pensioner is well-known for his life as former alpine climber, Antarctic worker, Erebus recovery team member and he also responded to the Cave Creek disaster.
