Jury deliberations have begun at Hakyung Lee's High Court murder trial

Jury deliberations have begun at Hakyung Lee's High Court murder trial

The 45-year-old's charged with murdering her two children in 2018. Their bodies were left in suitcases in an Auckland storage unit.

Lee accepts she caused the children's deaths, but her insanity defence points to a failed suicide attempt following her husband's death.

Justice Geoffrey Venning told the jury Lee told numerous lies about what happened to her children but warned people lie for lots of reasons.

He's asked them not to reason her guilt just because she lied, reminding them it's just one piece of the evidence.
