A woman is seeking restitution from Te Whatu Ora, after her pregnancy ended in stillbirth

A woman is seeking restitution from Te Whatu Ora, after her pregnancy ended in stillbirth

The woman, who lives with type 1 diabetes, received care from Health New Zealand's Taranaki services, during her pregnancy in 2018.

She complained staff did not acknowledge her pregnancy as high-risk, after her baby died in the eighth month of her pregnancy.

She's seeking 350-thousand dollars in damages, after a ruling's found the hospital mismanaged her diabetes throughout the pregnancy.

The Human Rights Review Tribunal will be hearing the case further.
