Jennifer Lawrence is embracing "understated elegance"

The Hollywood actress - who is mother to two children - has opened up about her fashion sense and revealed she likes her looks to come across as "effortless and simple" and she often feels most stylish when she gets "ready quickly".

She told Grazia magazine: "[Elegance to me] is effortless and simple. I prefer understated elegance ...

"I feel most elegant when I can get ready quickly ... Time is so precious. I like to appreciate every moment and be present because time moves so quickly."

Jennifer is an ambassador for Longines watches and she revealed she was given a meaningful family timepiece on her wedding day when she tied the knot with Cooke Maroney.

She explained: "I think a watch gives you a more polished, professional look and it is also something really beautiful.

"When I got married, my brother-in-law gave me a watch that his father had given him when he was younger, which was such a meaningful gesture."

Jennifer, 25, previously admitted she only really started paying attention to fashion after she found herself being photographed regularly - revealing it got easier when she hit her mid-twenties.

She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I think I started paying attention to fashion as soon as paparazzi started happening a few years ago. I was not ready.

"I was like: 'What do I wear?' I had to start paying attention. When I turned 25 it got easier because I know: 'This is you, this is not you.'"

Jennifer also added that she loved her role as an ambassador for fashion house Dior.

She added: "I could not believe it when they signed me. They fly me to Paris and get me hotel rooms, and I'm like: 'Are you kidding me? You don't have to be so nice!' ... I couldn't renew my contract quickly enough."

In the interview, Jennifer also insisted she wants the entertainment industry to change the way women's bodies are viewed.

She explained: "I would like us to make a new normal-body type. Everybody says: 'We love that there is somebody with a normal body!' And I'm like: 'I don't feel like I have a normal body.'

"I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person. I think we've gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it's like: 'Oh, my God, she's curvy.' Which is crazy.

"The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante. At least so I don't feel like the fattest one."
