Reserve Bank stress testing suggests our banks could withstand major global disruptions

Business Desk reports Kiwibank, BNZ, ANZ, ASB, and Westpac New Zealand were assessed for the ability to withstand a worldwide downturn - such as a recession triggered by a severe geopolitical shock.

Among findings, the Bank determined large banks have built capital levels over the past decade - making them well placed in severe scenario, although restoring capital would take time.
