Teddi Mellencamp has encouraged her social media followers to "get checked" for cancer

The 44-year-old TV star has taken to social media to mark one year since doctors discovered "plum-sized stage 4 tumours on [her] brain" and to urge her fans to get themselves checked out for potential problems.

Alongside a throwback photo from her hospital bed, Teddi wrote on Instagram: "A year ago today I went into the ER thinking I had migraines and within 24 hours was having surgery on the plum-sized stage 4 tumors on my brain.

"I have a lot of anxiety surrounding today but also a lot of gratitude. Gratitude for the doctors and nurses who took care of me, gratitude for my family and friends for supporting me, and gratitude for all the love that you have poured into me.

"Trust your instincts. Get checked [heart emoji] (sic)"

In January, Teddi confirmed that she's "still in immunotherapy".

The reality star wished she was "feeling better" - but Teddi clarified her dad's previous comments that she was "suffering" and still "really sick" following her cancer battle.

Speaking on the Two T's in a Pod podcast, Teddi explained: "You know, I think when he said the words 'suffering,' he meant like, how I'm mentally doing versus how I'm physically doing."

The TV star - who announced in 2025 that she was "cancer-free" after her melanoma battle, but continues to undergo immunotherapy treatments for stage 4 cancer - rubbished the suggestion that her cancer had returned.

She said: "There's still no trace of cancer.

"But I'm still considered stage four and I'm still in immunotherapy, so essentially nothing's changed other than I still - I don't feel great ... I would hope that I would be feeling better by now, but I really don't."

Teddi addressed the speculation after John Mellencamp, her dad, opened up about his daughter's health struggles.

He said on The Joe Rogan Experience: "It's not f****** fun. She's got cancer in the brain, and she's suffering right now."
