The man who killed 27-year-old Wiremu Arapo nearly four years ago has been sentenced to life with a non-parole period of 17 years

The man who killed 27-year-old Wiremu Arapo nearly four years ago has been sentenced to life with a non-parole period of 17 years

Aucklander Sean Hayde has been found guilty of murdering his former boxing trainer inside a Minvera Terrace house in Cockle Bay.

This follows the November sentencing of Hayde's friend Greg Hart, who helped Hayde kill Arapo.

Hart is serving 11 years and four months in prison for manslaughter.

Both men were also found guilty of perverting the course of justice by setting fire to Arapo's flat.
